Meet the team at Kemp & Co
Kemp & Co is a family run business, established by Maria Kemp in 2007 with the support of her husband, Stuart, and three daughters Amber, Leah & Keely.
Maria Kemp (FARLA)
MANAGING DIRECTOR/OWNER
Having notched up over 25 years in the industry and specifically specialising in Residential Letting, Maria has gained Fellow status with ARLA (The Association of Residential Lettings Agents).
Maria was also Chair of West Dorset's Landlord Accreditation Scheme 09 -13 and was particularly proud of her role on the committee which she held until the scheme reformed into the Landlords & Local Authority Partnership (LLAP).
After working at Branch Manager level in both Sales & Lettings in the local area, Maria set up Kemp & Co in 2007. The combination of local knowledge, experience and qualifications she brings to the company enables her to provide clients with an extensive, professional service.
She undertakes many hours of CPD each year and attends many seminars in order to keep on top of the ever changing and complex legislation surrounding the Lettings Industry.
Maria won the Evenlines Professional of the Year 2014 in the Natwest Venus Awards for the Dorset region.
Leah Kemp (MARLA)
MANAGER
Leah joined the team in 2013 and having initially undertaken NVQs in Administration, she has also successfully passed the NFOPP Level 3 Technical Award in Residential Letting & Property Management and is currently studying towards further levels. She is now a Member of ARLA (The Association of Residential Letting Agents) and again carries out many hours of continued personal development to maintain membership and enhance her knowledge base which has also included sitting a number of NFOPP courses in Block Management.
As well as overseeing the day to day running of the managed portfolio, carrying out market appraisals, property inspections and dealing with client accounts, she also manages the out of hours emergency helpline during evenings, weekends and bank holidays ensuring we deliver the very best service we can to both landlords and tenants.
Becky Cardno
TEAM ADMINISTRATOR
Becky has taken on the responsibility of Team Administrator, ensuring the smooth running of the office. Having successfully achieved NVQ II & III in Business Administration, she now has years of experience at Kemp & Co since starting with us, initially as an apprentice, in 2013.
Responsible for a large proportion of our office administration, Becky also deals with the repairs and maintenance of our managed portfolio co-ordinating between contractors, tenants and landlords.
Stuart Kemp
STUART KEMP PLUMBING & HEATING
Married to Maria for over 20 years, Stuart set up his own successful company following the continued success of Kemp & Co. Stuart was already a plumber and heating engineer working for an established local business but the needs of Kemp & Co’s managed portfolio made perfect business sense for Stuart to go it alone.
Stuart is the preferred plumber for almost all our managed and non managed landlords and is also in constant demand outside of Kemp & Co by way of recommendations and referrals. From Gas Safety Certificates and boiler services to installing full central heating systems, new bathroom refits to minor repairs of dripping taps and toilets, Stuart is Gas Safe Registered and always on call for those unexpected emergencies!
If you are a managed client, you will never pay extra for emergency call out fees should you ever require an out of hours plumber as this is included within our commission rates!
Keely Kemp MARLA
LETTINGS NEGOTIATOR
The youngest member of the Kemp family! Keely joined the company full time as a Lettings Negotiator in 2022 and has recently qualified for her Level 3 Award in Residential Lettings & Property Management.
Amber Guy-Kemp
INDEPENDENT MARKETING CONSULTANT
Amber runs her own business from her home in Devon. We are very fortunate to now be working with Amber who is a marketing professional with expertise in web design & advertising strategies to engage customers and improve business opportunities, both through retaining existing clients and attracting new ones.

Special thanks goes to Maureen Camino for believing in me when perhaps I did not believe in myself. Maureen became a business partner and a very good friend who helped to grow Kemp & Co in the early years before retiring in 2013 and will always be thought of as part of the team – the original “Kemp & Mo”.
